International Export Operations Coordinator


Redondo Beach, CA | Full-Time/Flexible Schedule | $28–$29 per hour

International Logistics | Export Operations | Freight Forwarding


Please Note: This is an office-based international export operations position. This is not a warehouse or shipping/receiving role.

We're looking for an experienced International Export Operations Coordinator to join our growing global logistics team. In this role, you'll manage international customer orders from order receipt through final delivery while coordinating with freight forwarders, carriers, overseas agents, customs brokers, and internal departments.

The ideal candidate has experience working for a freight forwarder, NVOCC, customs broker, importer/exporter, or international shipping company and understands the documentation, compliance, and customer service required to successfully move international freight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage international export orders from order entry through final delivery.
  • Coordinate ocean and air export shipments with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, warehouses, factories, and overseas partners.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for domestic and international customers by providing shipment updates, resolving issues, and ensuring outstanding customer service.
  • Prepare, review, and process export documentation including:
    • Commercial Invoices
    • Packing Lists
    • Bills of Lading
    • Certificates of Origin
    • Export declarations and related shipping documentation
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. export regulations, customer requirements, and Incoterms.
  • Track shipments and proactively resolve transportation delays, documentation discrepancies, and operational issues.
  • Prepare customer invoices and verify freight charges, billing accuracy, duties, tariffs, and service fees.
  • Review carrier invoices and resolve billing discrepancies with vendors and internal departments.
  • Support Finance by assisting with invoicing, payment processing, reconciliations, and international payment documentation including Letters of Credit and Documentary Collections.
  • Maintain accurate records within ERP, transportation management, and order management systems.
  • Generate shipment and operational reports while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.


Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in one or more of the following:
    • International Logistics
    • Ocean or Air Export
    • International Order Management
  • Experience working for a:
    • Freight Forwarder
    • NVOCC
    • Importer/Exporter
    • Billing and Invoicing
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Export documentation
    • Incoterms
    • International shipping procedures
    • Export compliance
    • Freight billing and invoicing
  • Experience coordinating shipments with carriers, customs brokers, freight forwarders, overseas agents, and international customers.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple shipments, meet deadlines, and customer accounts simultaneously.


Preferred

  • Experience using ERP, TMS, freight forwarding, or export management software.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Outlook skills.
  • Bachelor's degree is a plus but not required.
