Job Summary and Qualifications

The OB Surgical technician, under direct supervision of a registered professional nurse, provides direct and indirect perioperative nursing tasks for patients requiring surgical intervention or vaginal delivery. Will assist the Labor and Delivery team in the care of patients, equipment and supplies. The OB Tech provides care for Neonatal and Newborn Infants, adolescent patients between 12 to 17 years of age; and adult patients between 18 to 50 years. 

What qualifications you will need: 

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Successful completion of a Surgical Technician Program
  • Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) as recognized by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) preferred. 
  • Current Basic Life Saving (BLS) from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross from required 
  • One-year previous experience in a perioperative or obstetrical setting preferred
