Responsibilities
  • Provides clerical and clinical support to the department to contribute to an effective and organized department.ย  Maintains files, medical records, and unit forms in a timely and accurate manner.ย 
  • Completes and maintains the Electronic Birth Certificate documents to assure legal registration of newborns per KDHE statutes.ย 
  • Completes unit charge review and reconciliation each day and escalates concerns to billing department to ensure accurate charge capture and billing of services rendered.ย 
  • Responsible for answering phone calls, responding to patient call lights, and screening unit visitors before allowing entry to the unit.ย 
  • Runs report on unscheduled c-section patients and coordinates with the office staff to ensure patients have appropriateย follow-upย appointments scheduled.ย 
  • Greetsย patients who arrive on the unit for scheduled procedures or triage; rooms patients and arrives patientsย in Epic.ย  Obtains copies of patient ID cards, prints consent to treat form.ย 
  • Completes Quality Control Audits and EHR audits as requested by department manager.ย ย 
  • Completes clinical tasksย as necessary to meet patient care and unit needs, including but not limited to: transporting specimens, obtaining vital signs, toileting patients, obtaining lab specimens, completing POC glucose testing, bathing patients, patient rounding, transporting patients or any task that falls within the scope of practice.ย 

Qualifications
