Position Overview

Capital Health Medical Group is seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join our established, full-scope midwifery practice. Capital Health has a proud, long-standing history of integrating midwifery care into our maternal health services. Our collaborative team consists of 26 midwives who manage OB triage, labor and delivery, and postpartum rounding.

This full-time position spans both high-volume inpatient care at our Hopewell hospital location and continuity of care across our eight regional outpatient clinical offices.

Key Responsibilities:

Inpatient Hospital Care

  • Full-Scope Intrapartum Management:Manage active labor, spontaneous vaginal deliveries, and immediate postpartum care.
  • Obstetrical Triage:Evaluate and manage acute triage presentations for pregnant patients.
  • Postpartum Rounding:Conduct daily clinical evaluations and physical assessments for patients during their postpartum hospital stay.
  • Hospital Scheduling:Fulfill inpatient coverage through a flexible rotation of 12-hour or 24-hour shifts.

Outpatient Clinical Care

  • Prenatal & Postpartum Care:Provide comprehensive prenatal management and postpartum follow-up care.
  • Gynecological & Well-Woman Services:Conduct routine annual exams, family planning, contraceptive counseling, and evaluation of gynecological concerns.
  • Office Scheduling:Maintain a dedicated outpatient schedule consisting of 8-hour office days.

Professional Development Opportunities

  • Surgical First Assisting:Opportunity to obtain hospital privileges to serve as surgical First Assist for cesarean sections.
  • Point-of-Care Ultrasound:Access to training and credentialing to perform limited obstetrical ultrasounds in the clinical setting.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education:Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Master of Science in Midwifery, or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an ACME-accredited program.
  • Certification:Active board certification from the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB).
  • Licensure:Active, unrestricted Certified Nurse Midwife license in the State of New Jersey (or eligible to obtain), along with prescriptive authority.
  • Skills:Exceptional clinical judgment, strong interpersonal communication, and a passion for physiological birth within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
