Job description

SUMMARY
As an OR Assistant, your exceptional organization and collaboration abilities assist in the operational success of the unit and patient outcomes.
Job Title: OR Assistant
Department: Peri-Operative
Location: Clifton Springs Hospital - 2 Coulter Road
Clifton Springs, NY 14432
Hours Per Week: Full-Time, 40 Hours/Week
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30-5pm/ no weekends/ no holidays
ATTRIBUTES
  • One (1) year of patient care and/or operating room experience in an accredited hospital preferred
  • Basic computer skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of aseptic technique
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • General Maintenance. Obtain supplies required for case carts and sub-sterile areas; responsible for cleanliness and safety of environment for all those within it; transport specimens, cultures and medications within the hospital
  • Collaboration. Work with team to provide smooth workflow in peri-operative setting; work as a team to accomplish room turnover
  • Patient Care. Assist in the transporting and positioning of patients as directed

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
