Coherent Plug NPI Program Manager

Ciena's Optical Modem NPI and LCM Engineering team is looking for a Technical NPI Project Manager to help launch Ciena's world leading optical products into volume production.

The role of the Modem NPI PM is to plan and manage the introduction of new products from the design phase through to ramp at our partner manufacturing sites. This involves understanding the key milestones, dependencies and risks.The NPI PM will work closely with the Plug & Modem NPI Test and Process Team, Modem R&D, Ciena Prototype Lab and CMs.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead projects with cross-functional R&D and Operations Engineering
  • Work with the cross-functional team to define project deliverables and project schedules with clear milestones
  • Maintain accurate and detailed tracking of Operations key deliverables for the program's success
  • Review the status of project plans and ensure all key team members are informed of changes and risks, and that contingency plans are in place
  • Manage proto builds in Ciena's Lab and contract manufacturers
  • Work with the production operations team to ensure a smooth production ramp.

Qualifications and Experience required:

  • Bachelor/Master's degree in Electronics/Electrical/Optical Engineering
  • Knowledge of Optical/Electrical test engineering
  • Minimum of 3-5 years Project Management
  • Strong cross-functional leadership
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
  • Willingness to engage others to achieve results
  • Experience with Agile would be an asset

The annual pay range for this position is $109,000 - $174,000 CAD

Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
