Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The mission of the School of Social Work is to advance equity, transform systems, improve lives. Classes provide rigorous and evidence-based content, and give students the opportunity to explore theory, learn intervention skills and engage in challenging dialogue with colleagues.
Position Summary
The Assistant Director of MSW Education reports to the Associate Dean for MSW Education and serves in a backend, systems-focused role designed to support the Associate Dean through program coordination, infrastructure development, operational design, and the development of new initiatives for the MSW program. This position plays a central role in the implementation, coordination, and continuous improvement of the MSW academic program and integrates program management, operational oversight, and advanced data analysis to support effective academic administration and strategic decision-making. 
While the Associate Dean provides executive leadership and direction for MSW Education, the Assistant Director, in collaboration with the Associate Dean, is responsible for translating that direction into coordinated systems, structured processes, analytic insights, and executable plans. The role requires sound judgment and discretion, strong technical expertise, and the ability to manage complex, interdependent components of a graduate professional program. 
The Assistant Director serves as the operational program manager and analytical lead for the MSW Program, overseeing program infrastructure, managing key academic processes, and developing the data systems necessary to inform strategic and operational decisions. This role combines program coordination with applied research and data science to ensure that MSW Education operates with clarity, accountability, and measurable outcomes. 
The Assistant Director works in collaboration with the Associate Dean to synthesize information from multiple sources, identify trends and gaps, and develop actionable recommendations that will guide the Associate Dean in program planning and improvement.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Relevant post-baccalaureate degree: relevant undergraduate degree with 5 -7 years of related professional experience may be substituted for the advanced degree.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Relevant experience in data research, data analytics, data science, business administration, higher education, or a closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Experience in data analysis and project management, with demonstrated advanced proficiency in data visualization platforms such as Qualtrics, Excel, Tableau, and Power BI. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to manage multiple priorities, and experience working collaboratively in a professional academic environment. Experience in higher education or public service settings is preferred. 
A relevant post-baccalaureate and/or master's degree in data research, data analytics, data science, business administration, higher education, or a closely related field. A minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in data analysis, assessment, or a related role is required, with experience in higher education or a career services environment strongly preferred.
