Job description

Job Summary:
Candidate will be responsible for leading a team of approximately 20 production workers to melt and supply molten aluminum to the production operation. Candidate will assign manpower, track and update timekeeping, and uphold and execute safety and contract work rules. Maintain a safe, productive and engaged work area. This is a fast paced Manufacturing Environment.
Business Group:
Melting Department, responsible for the 2nd shift team, melting aluminum and delivering the aluminum to the dye cast machines to make the final product. This person will be leading around 15-20 production workers.
Job Responsibilities:
Pre shift pass on meeting, previous group leader from the other shift will review tasks and items with this group leader, make sure they are aligned, review safety or anything that needs to be passed on
Kick off with their team, tell their team who is doing what, review who is on vacation any call ins and what they need to focus on/support with
Charging the furnaces to make sure they are at the right level to support the production team ,working with the maintenance team to make sure everything is running properly
Make sure the team is working safely
Requirements:
High School Diploma, will accept GED if they have relevant and good experience
At least 2 years of leadership experience
Military background is also good, people who have this seem to be successful in this role
Soft skills such as problem solving, multi-tasking, organized, cannot be afraid to dig in and solve problems, ability to work with others/team player
Experience working around molten aluminum would be a plus for job but not required
