E.K. Services Inc. is hiring for the position of FLAGGER/TRAFFIC CONTROL


We are seeking seasonal flaggers for our construction crews this summer season. E.K. Services, Inc. is a woman owned, full-service utility, excavating and paving construction contractor offering commercial and residential services throughout central Pennsylvania and beyond.


JOB SUMMARY:

A traffic control flagger will control motorist and pedestrian traffic on the job sites. They assist with the daily traffic pattern set-up and removal. Responsible for knowing, understanding and appropriately applying PUB213 Traffic Control Guidelines.


MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure the convenient, safe and orderly movement of vehicular, bicycle and pedestrian traffic
  • Set-Up and Remove/Tear-down traffic control patterns as worksite requires
  • Maintain clean job site, including materials and tools
  • Complies with all PennDOT publication 213 guidelines
  • Complies with all company and OSHA mandated safety and health guidelines
  • Wears all applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Assists as laborer during non-peak or downtime
  • Liaison with Sub-Contractors to ensure proper operations
  • Performs additional duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Stamina: Flaggers are on their feet for long periods, often in adverse conditions
  • Ability to work as a part of a crew
  • Available to work day or night shifts
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Valid driver's license
  • Pre-employment Drug Screen Required


EXPERIENCE:

Flagger experience preferred. Will train motivated individual. Required to attend company training/certifications to keep compliance with company expectations.


WORKING CONDITIONS:

Outside. Seldom exposed to fumes, odor, dryness, and poor ventilation; Occasionally exposed to dust, wetness, and vibrations; Frequently exposed to dirt, heat, cold, and noise.
