Job description

Help Desk Specialist

Zachery Piper Solutions is seeking a Help Desk Specialist to support a DoD program that is fully funded through 2028, supporting the Department of the Navy program based in Kansas City, MO. The Help Desk Specialist provides end-user technical support across a large enterprise environment. It's an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build their IT career and gain exposure within the Intelligence Community. The role will begin on a night-shift schedule, with the option to move to other shifts after the first few months depending on candidate preference. Active Secret Clearance and CompTIA Security+ required.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical assistance for laptops, desktops, printers, mobile devices, and other network-connected equipment
  • Troubleshoot issues related to connectivity, operating systems, Microsoft/Office applications, and VTC systems
  • Collaborate with employees and leadership to diagnose and resolve IT problems
  • Support daily operations of the Enterprise Service Desk
  • Manage service tickets, run scripts, answer incoming calls, and meet established service metrics

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Secret Clearance
  • At least 1 year of IT support experience
  • IAT II certification (Security+, CCNA Security, CySA+, or higher-level equivalent)
  • Hands-on experience with troubleshooting, ticketing tools, and general IT support

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Comprehensive benefits package including PTO, paid holidays, medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and sick leave as required
  • Salary range: $50,000–$55,000 annually
