Lake Trucking Company is a national leading transportation company established in 1961. We specialize in highly perishable and refrigerated products and we are looking for a Night Dispatcher to join our night dispatch team. The Night Dispatcher is responsible for the efficient and effective scheduling, routing, tracking and dispatching of trucks and drivers in order to meet the company's high service standards.
Position Requirements:
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years work experience in logistics and/or dispatching.
  • Must be a problem solver and a team player who works well with others.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • High school diploma/GED required, some college preferred.
  • Great time management and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and prioritization of work assignments.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, government regulations in the transportation industry.
  • Three years (3) or more work-related knowledge, skills or experience.
  • Must be willing and able to work nights from 6pm to 6am and possibly weekends.
  • Must pass background check and drug screen.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Track and monitor all vehicles and drivers in the fleet in order to ensure all orders are filled and delivered in a timely manner.
• Monitor, track and update the dispatch board to ensure all drivers and vehicles are in the correct locations.
• Proactively anticipate and address any potential issues or problems with deliveries.
• Communicate with drivers and customers to ensure timely deliveries.
• Update and maintain database systems with accurate information.
• Schedule and assign routes for drivers.
• Monitor and respond to calls from drivers.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and stay calm in stressful situations.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards.
