Director, Programs - New Product Introduction (Aerospace Electro-Mechanical Actuation)

We are looking for a highly enthusiastic leader with exceptional communication skills, leadership abilities, program management process knowledge to lead and coach PM professionals. This role is key to shaping our future as we grow and scale our business.

Location: Shelby, NC

Your Challenge:

As the Director and leader of the New Product Integration program team you will have primary focus on ensuring customer satisfaction through maintenance of program schedules, on-time delivery, project status updates, and quality of deliverables while maintaining project margins, controlling program cost, and driving business plans. This is a working position and the Director will act as the Program Manager for select development programs.

Key Metrics of Performance

  • Accurately forecast, track and report contract revenue, program billing and invoice collections across all open programs

  • Achieve program performance execution: on-time and on-budget at the program level

  • Achieve and maintain department skill set/capabilities at average or above and adequately fulfill department resource gaps

  • Improve and maintain customer satisfaction scores

Key Responsibilities

  • Evolve the current structure, process and customer accountability culture in the Program Management Office centered around achievable program plans, risk management, schedule adherence and on-budget performance while achieving revenue, profitability and working capital objectives of the business unit

  • Able to simultaneously manage interdependent programs and interface with customers (internal and external) effectively

  • Perform supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws

  • Provides oversight and leadership for program portfolio across BU

  • Responsible for program P&L including but not limited to: Budgets; Actual Costs; Estimates to Complete; Invoicing; Receivables and Unbilled Receivables

  • Proactively manage customer escalations with clear and executable mitigation/recovery plans

  • Works with engineering & business development on proposals

  • Provides coaching and mentoring; interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing issues and resolving problems

What You Bring:

  • 10+ years Program and Project Management experience

    • 5 - years directly managing programs in a related environment

    • 5+ years leading a PM Organization

  • Well-rounded experience in manufacturing, operations, and supply chain

  • Progressively responsible management experience in leading a PMO along with a record of producing results, meeting financial targets and leading organizational changes

  • TINA level contract management

  • Strong contract / scope / finance negotiations skills

  • Strong understanding of program management principles and process

  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing program P&L (ETC/EAC/Budgets/EVMS)

  • Excellent communication, written and presentation skills

  • Considerable flexibility of methods required to be meeting programs goals and executing deliverables

  • Strong customer engagement experience with track record of growing accounts

  • Excellent understanding and empirical application of Project/Program Management process with demonstrated performance and understanding of principles

  • Relevant experience in Aerospace Electro-Mechanical Actuation

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) or related technical discipline

Salary: $170,000-$200,000 plus incentives
