Requirement: Must have demonstrated experience across hardware, software, and manufacturing environments, with a strong background supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), manufacturing test development, and factory sustaining activities.
Responsibilities
  • New Product Introduction (NPI) Responsibilities
    • Working with the hardware design engineering teams, define an efficient test strategy for boards, modules, and systems. This encompasses the definition of test hardware, test fixtures, and embedded test resources within the product to improve testability
    • Provide level of effort estimates to the NPI product manager to support scheduling of development and factory introduction activity
    • Develop manufacturing test software within a LabVIEW/Teststand/Python environment
    • Actively participate in the definition and evolution of the manufacturing test software environment

    Factory Sustaining Responsibilities
    • Support production activity within ST Engineering iDirect by helping to resolve production issues as they occur, with emphasis on understanding and resolving the root cause of the problem
    • identify opportunities for manufacturing test cost reduction, such as test yield improvements, and test time reductions, without impacting outgoing product quality
    • Work with our IT team to evaluate and improve our data collection, and test metric reporting capabilities
    • Represent Manufacturing test at Business Review meetings with teams at our manufacturing sites

Qualifications
EDUCATION:
BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Mathematics, or equivalent experience
EXPERIENCE: 5+ years of industry experience w/in manufacturing test engineering.
Requirement: Must have demonstrated experience across hardware, software, and manufacturing environments, with a strong background supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), manufacturing test development, and factory sustaining activities.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • 5+years experience in the test engineering profession
  • 5+years experience developing manufacturing test software using Labview/Teststand
  • Python Programming experience including instrument control, interfacing with SQL databases, and source management best practices
  • Experience in hardware design an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently to achieve desired results from general objectives
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with contractors, and engineering teams worldwide
  • Excellent communication skills: listening, speaking, and in writing; able to express thoughts and concepts to a variety of people with different skill levels
  • Experience with communication systems, radio/microwave frequency, and/or VSAT systems is a plus
