Job description

Title: Senior New Product Development Engineer
Location: Oxford, MS

Salary: $117,000 and up depending upon experience
Schedule: On-site daily

Focus: The Senior New Product Development Engineer is instrumental in bringing innovative products to market by effectively managing the entire development process from ideation through production. Their ability to integrate technical skills with market insights is key to creating successful products that meet customer needs

Senior New Product Development Engineer Essential Job Functions:
  • Act as project manager of new product development programs encompassing all product categories (i.e., consumer products, law enforcement, industrial, and military).
  • Aerodynamic analysis, ballistic testing and photography, manufacturing tool design, equipment design, process definition, and quality documentation.
  • Troubleshoot new product constraints as they arise in manufacturing. 
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives that offer innovation, lean practices, and/or cost reductions. 
  • Keep abreast of competitive new product development and maintain an awareness of new product requirements within the industry. 
  • Assist Marketing with technical support relative to presentations, demonstrations, and new product discoveries working with Law Enforcement, Military, and Industrial representatives, as well as outdoor writers covering commercial products. 
Senior New Product Development Engineer Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree* in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Metallurgical, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Minimum of seven years of Engineering experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 
  • Product development engineering experience preferred.
  • Project management experience with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously preferred. 
  • Experience with three-dimensional computer aided modeling; Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor preferred. 
  • Ability to travel occasionally, up to 5%. 
     

Location-Specific Requirements: 

  • This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. 
  • This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
