CommQuest seeks multiple Interns for both clinical and non-clinical experiences. The Intern position offers a collaborative environment between CommQuest Services and educational institutions providing students opportunities to gain field experience in their chosen area of study - consistent with CommQuest's mission. Field experience generally consists of requisite hours of direct service (involving clients) and administrative duties. During the internship experience, Interns are responsible for ensuring the timely completion of all required documentation related to their experience and required by their institution. Intern job responsibilities will be based upon educational level and licensure, as well as department/program assignment. Interns are considered employees (non-paid) of CommQuest and are required to complete background checks, fingerprinting, drug screens, TB test clearance, a mandatory orientation, and essential trainings as conditions of employment during their time with the organization.

In this role, interns will:

Internship opportunities are available for students in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, PMHNP practicum, APRN clinical rotations, and undergraduate programs in psychology, sociology, criminal justice, human resources, and marketing. Placements are limited and subject to supervision availability and program requirements.

Essential Functions:

  • Adhere to the organization's policies and procedures, as well as ethical standards and codes of their profession
  • Learn technical skills related to the mental health/ behavioral health field
  • Participate in job shadowing and observation opportunities
  • Communicate efficiently and effectively with different team members, departments, and clients.
  • Maintain regular contact and communication with assigned supervisor
  • Provide information to individuals interested in agency services and refer to appropriate point-of-contact
  • Complete documentation in an effective and efficient manner in alignment with organization's policy and standards
  • Aid with administrative reports, charts, exhibits, etc.
  • Demonstrate the ability to adjust to and use new approaches in the performance of assigned tasks and job duties
  • Uphold safety policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited university/college in a related program. Clinical interns must hold and maintain a valid trainee license relevant to the work they will be performing throughout their internship. Proof of educational enrollment and license (for clinical interns) is required.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must have the ability to demonstrate uncompromised judgment and discretion regarding confidential matters.
  • Must be a flexible and reliable team player, both within own department and our organization.
  • Must possess a strong skillset in time management and task prioritization.
  • Must maintain reliable transportation during the internship experience.
