Job description

Under limited supervision, the Network Engineer is accountable for high quality LAN/WAN networks including planning, integration, implementation and support. Provides recommendations and consulting services to senior analysts for project design and strategic initiatives. Assisting with the development, implementation, and maintenance of IT security solutions including firewalls, anti-virus solutions, and intrusion detection/prevention systems. Investigation of any actual or potential information security incidents. Perform reviews of network security architecture, information security administration and policies. Collaborate with the Infrastructure team in identifying network and system vulnerabilities, and the appropriate solutions to eliminate or minimize their potential effects. Collaborate with staff in the evaluation of new software and hardware systems, particularly as they relate to security.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience.

Experience:

4 years of progressive responsibility in LAN/WAN networking to include successful design and implementation of LAN/WAN networks. Experience with Security software, disaster recovery, firewalls, network monitoring, etc.

Skills:

  • Skill in oral and written communication.
  • Skill in project management.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously
  • Familiarity with HIPAA, HITECH, HITRUST, NIST
  • Familiarity with QRadar, Symantec product suite, SolarWinds Profiler, Cisco LMS, InterMapper

Licensures, Certifications:

  • Level I Industry Certification: CCNA, CCNP or equivalent required; CISSP or equivalent preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Some heavy lifting

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administers LAN/WAN network devices, disaster recovery and communication channels through high quality, high availability automated tasks ensuring testing and quality control.
  • Communicates with external and internal customers to respond to requests for changes in network hardware, communications channels or IOS software by determining detailed requirements and impact, identifying alternatives, costs and obtaining appropriate approvals.
  • Maintains documentation library for all LAN/WAN networks and communication channels.
  • Reengineers, designs and implements new and existing systems.

Pay Range

$79,517.04 - $143,130.67
