Cloud Operations Engineer - Network
Daytona Beach, Florida

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Cloud Operations Engineer with specialized expertise in Azure cloud network components. In this role, you will be responsible for the management, monitoring, and maintenance of our Azure cloud infrastructure, with a focus on networking. You will ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of our cloud-based systems while working closely with development, security, and operations teams to optimize and automate cloud operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Azure Cloud Infrastructure Management:
  • Design, deploy, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure, focusing [to start with] on network components such as Azure Virtual Networks (VNets), Network Security Groups (NSGs), Azure Firewall, and Azure ExpressRoute. Once established in the Azure network 1/ share network domain knowledge with other Cloud engineers 2/ learn and support other cloud infrastructure components.
  • Monitor and manage Azure cloud resources to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
  • Privatization of Azure resources through vNet integration and Private Endpoints
โ€ข Network Architecture and Security:
  • Implement and manage Azure network solutions including Azure Virtual WAN, VPN gateways, Azure Load Balancers, Application Gateways, and Traffic Manager.
  • Ensure the security and compliance of Azure network components by configuring and managing Azure Security Center, Azure Policy, and Azure Monitor.
โ€ข Automation and Optimization:
  • Develop and maintain scripts and tools for automating the deployment and management of Azure network components using Azure CLI, PowerShell, and ARM templates.
  • Optimize network performance through the implementation of advanced networking features like VNet peering, Azure DNS, and Application Security Groups.
โ€ข Monitoring and Incident Management:
  • Monitor Azure network environments for security breaches, performance issues, and system outages using tools such as Azure Monitor, Network Watcher, and Traffic Analytics.
  • Respond to and troubleshoot network incidents in a timely manner, ensuring minimal downtime and impact on operations.
โ€ข Collaboration and Support:
  • Work closely with the Network, Security, Development, and DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines, particularly in networking aspects, enabling automation and continuous delivery of software updates.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams on Azure network-related issues and best practices.
โ€ข Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of Azure network architecture, procedures, and configurations.
  • Generate regular reports on network performance, cost management, and security metrics.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in network architecture and operations. 3+ years of experience in cloud operations, with a focus on Azure cloud network components.
  • Strong experience with Azure network services such as Azure Firewall, VNets, NSGs, VPN gateways, and Azure Load Balancers.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Biceps, PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Python.
  • Experience with automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Azure DevOps.
  • Solid understanding of networking, security, and infrastructure-as-code principles in Azure environments.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Azure Monitor, Network Watcher, and Log Analytics.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Expert knowledge of Routing and switching Technologies. Experience in design and execution of Cisco, Palo Alto and other network security solutions.
  • Azure certifications such as Azure Network Engineer Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
  • Experience with advanced Azure networking features like ExpressRoute, VNet Peering, Virtual WAN, and Azure DNS.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in delivering technical analyses and cost estimates for Cloud delivered projects.
  • Building and delivering presentations to internal audience on technical topics.
