Job Description
  • Proactive network monitoring and first level of support to network incidents for night shift.
  • Proactively work with Network Engineers and Cable Technicians on network incident prevention and service restoration.
  • Basic troubleshooting, escalation to network team within SLA, keeping up with communication until resolution.
  • Network equipment configuration, and replacement of faulty network equipment under Network Team's guidance.
  • Participate as a buddy check for network engineers during night change windows.
  • Provide occasional extended hours support during high projects season, and during site maintenance day.
  • Respond to incidents within SLA.
  • Follow SOPs, create reports as requested, update management systems, and effectively communicate with team members and management.
  • Creation of daily pass down report.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of Network Help Desk or Network Technician experience
  • Cisco Certified Technician (CCT) certification or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Comp TIA A+ certification.
  • Some experience with VLANs, Subnetting, IP addresses, Ethernet cables, fiber optic cables, SSH, telnet, traceroute, optical transceivers, hubs, switches.
  • Due to required SLA, must live within 1 hour from north Austin, TX.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio.
  • Ability to work well within a team and mentoring other network technicians.
  • Strong sense of responsibility.
  • Able to occasionally lift equipment up to 40lb.
  • Able to occasionally wear a complete cleanroom smock inside an electronic semiconductor facility.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Cisco Certified Technician (CCT) certification or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Comp TIA A+ certification.
  • Experience with switch configuration, IP subnetting, network troubleshooting
  • Bilingual Korean
