Senior Aruba Network Engineer
Location: McLean, VA (On-site)
Type: Full-time
Role Summary
KNZ Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Senior Aruba Network Engineer with strong experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise network environments built on HPE Aruba networking technologies, with a particular focus on Aruba ClearPass.
The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise across wired and wireless networking, network access control (NAC), authentication services, segmentation, and enterprise network architecture. This individual will work closely with clients, internal engineering teams, and project stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and operationally efficient networking solutions. This role may include architecture, implementation, migration, optimization, troubleshooting, and operational support responsibilities across enterprise and government customer environments.
Key Responsibilities
Aruba Networking & Wireless
  • Design, deploy, configure, and support Aruba enterprise networking solutions
  • Implement and support Aruba CX switching platforms and Aruba wireless solutions
  • Configure and troubleshoot VLANs, routing, spanning-tree, QoS, multicast, and network segmentation
  • Perform wireless surveys, optimization, tuning, and troubleshooting
  • Develop high-level and low-level network designs and implementation documentation

ClearPass / NAC Responsibilities
  • Design, deploy, and administer Aruba ClearPass Policy Manager environments
  • Configure:
    • 802.1X authentication
    • MAC authentication
    • Guest access workflows
    • BYOD onboarding
    • Role-based access control
    • Dynamic segmentation
    • Certificate-based authentication
  • Integrate ClearPass with:
    • Active Directory
    • LDAP
    • PKI/Certificate Services
    • MFA platforms
    • SIEM/security monitoring tools
  • Troubleshoot authentication, authorization, and policy enforcement issues
  • Develop and maintain NAC policies, enforcement profiles, and onboarding workflows
Network Security & Architecture
  • Assist with network segmentation and Zero Trust initiatives
  • Support secure access strategies across campus and remote environments
  • Collaborate with security teams on compliance, audit, and security initiatives
  • Participate in architecture workshops and technical strategy discussions
  • Provide guidance on best practices, standards, and operational improvements
Operational Support
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting for enterprise network environments
  • Support production maintenance windows and upgrade activities
  • Develop implementation plans, migration procedures, and rollback documentation
  • Create and maintain network diagrams and technical documentation
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership when required
Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of enterprise networking experience
  • 3+ years of hands-on Aruba ClearPass experience
  • Strong understanding of:
    • TCP/IP
    • Routing and switching
    • VLANs and segmentation
    • 802.1X
    • RADIUS/TACACS+
    • Wireless networking concepts
    • NAC architectures
  • Experience with Aruba CX switching platforms
  • Experience with Aruba wireless controllers and APs
  • Experience integrating ClearPass with identity providers and directory services
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Experience creating technical documentation and implementation procedures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Aruba certifications such as:

  • Experience with:
    • Dynamic Segmentation

Education
