Position Title: IT Field Technician
Location: Richmond, VA
Clearance Requirements: None
Pay Rate: $25.00+/hr D.O.E.
Position Description:
Seeking a skilled IT Field Technician to deliver on-site technical support across the Commonwealth of Virginia. This contract role based in Richmond involves installing, replacing, and troubleshooting network infrastructure including switches, cabling, and related hardware. You will work directly with court staff to ensure seamless deployment and operation of network equipment, participate in team projects, document technical work, and support the maintenance of IT systems. Travel and occasional overnight stays are required, with reimbursement available per Judicial Branch guidelines.
Top Requirements:

• Hands-on experience with network switch installation, replacement, cutovers, and troubleshooting (Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, etc.)
• Strong networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, VLANs, subnetting, ping/traceroute, and switch configuration
• Proficiency in cabling/hardware installation: rack/stack, copper/fiber, SFPs, patching, and labeling
• Certifications such as Network+ or Cisco CCST, or 3+ years of relevant experience
• Ability to lift and install hardware in network closets and server rooms
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel statewide, including overnight stays
