Business Development Manager

Location: Amsterdam (hybrid)

Purpose of Position:

As Business Development Manager - Benelux, you will play a pivotal role in achieving sales targets and driving the growth of BSI's product and service offerings related to ISO standards and certifications. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a target-driven environment and enjoys developing long-term relationships with clients. The role has a dual focus: winning new clients through proactive prospecting and outreach, while maximising the value of existing relationships through account development and upsell. The successful candidate will convey the full breadth of BSI's product and services portfolio, building trusted, long-term partnerships with clients across the Netherlands and Belgium.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Identify, target and convert new clients across the Netherlands and Belgium through proactive prospecting and outreach.
  • Generate leads through networking, referrals, industry events and direct engagement.
  • Develop and execute territory plans to grow BSI's market presence across the Benelux.
  • Proactively engage with existing clients to identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities, growing revenue within the account base.
  • Build lasting partnerships based on trust, a deep understanding of client needs and the delivery of measurable value.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for a defined portfolio of accounts, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and retention.
  • Lead consultative sales engagements from initial discovery through to contract close.
  • Manage multi-country bid opportunities, coordinating with BSI colleagues across geographies to deliver cohesive, compelling proposals.
  • Work closely with BSI's experienced tender team, who provide dedicated support throughout the bid process.

Requirements to Be Successful:

  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify client needs and match them to relevant solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Comfortable operating in a KPI-driven environment with clear revenue targets.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems - Salesforce experience is an advantage.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and capable of working independently in a home-based setting.
  • Fluency in Dutch and English, written and verbal
  • French or Swedish is considered a strong advantage.
