Job description

Job Title: Warehouse Site Manager

Location: Chicago, IL — On-site
Pay: $75,000 – $95,000 per year, based on experience

Job Summary:

The Warehouse Site Manager is responsible for overseeing all daily warehouse operations at a high-volume food distribution facility, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with food safety standards. This role leads a team of warehouse associates and supervisors and is accountable for inbound receiving, outbound fulfillment, inventory integrity, and labor productivity. The position plays a direct role in keeping a large and growing distribution network running on time and at standard.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all inbound and outbound warehouse operations including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping
  • Lead, schedule, and develop a team of warehouse supervisors and associates across multiple shifts
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and disciplined inventory control procedures
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards, BRC certification requirements, and applicable regulatory guidelines
  • Monitor and report on key operational KPIs including order accuracy, labor productivity, and on-time shipment rates
  • Collaborate with transportation and procurement teams to coordinate inbound freight and outbound delivery schedules
  • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce cost, improve throughput, and increase team performance

Must-Haves / Requirements:
  • 3+ years of warehouse management experience, including direct supervisory responsibility
  • Experience in food distribution, food manufacturing, or a regulated warehouse environment
  • Working knowledge of WMS platforms and inventory management processes
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop hourly warehouse teams
  • Familiarity with food safety compliance standards

Preferred Qualifications:
  • BRC, SQF, or similar food safety certification experience
  • Experience managing multi-shift warehouse operations
  • Bilingual in English and Mandarin, Cantonese, or Spanish
