Job description

AMO is looking for experienced Web Developers to work in support of Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) in Orlando, Florida. Ideal candidates will bring full-stack development experience, including frontend and backend application development, and a working familiarity with DevOps tools and practices.

Responsibilities
  • Develops, implements, and maintains websites, web applications, and application databases
  • Ensures all code is properly structured, adheres to industry standards, and is compatible with various browsers and devices
  • Optimizes website performance, scalability, and server-side code and processes
  • Integrates websites with other computer applications and develop website infrastructure
  • Designs user-friendly interfaces, navigation menus, and digital layouts that ensure compatibility and usability across different browsers and devices
  • Utilizes web frameworks and client-side coding to enhance user experience

Qualifications
  • Must be a US Citizen with a Secret clearance (or ability to obtain one prior to start)
  • B.S. degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering specializing in Web Design and Development.
  • Experience in web development, with programming languages such as: React, JavaScript, Typescript, SQL, and CSS
  • Experience designing, developing, or integrating RESTful APIs and backend services
  • Working knowledge of SQL databases, including queries, schema design, and data integration
  • Familiarity with Git-based version control, including branching, merging, and code collaboration
  • Experience writing, updating, and maintaining efficient, testable, and well-documented code
  • Basic familiarity with Linux environments, command-line operations, or Bash scripting
  • Proven experience in writing, updating, and maintaining efficient, testable, and well-documented code
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills

Desired Qualifications:
  • Active Secret clearance
  • Experience with Python libraries or frameworks such as pandas, NumPy, Flask, FastAPI, Django, Plotly, Dash, or SQLAlchemy
  • Experience with React-based application development, including state management, reusable components, and responsive design
  • Familiarity with Docker, Docker Compose, or similar containerization tools
  • Experience with GitLab, GitLab CI/CD pipelines, or similar DevOps workflows
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies such as AWS EC2, S3, or equivalent services
  • Experience managing or supporting web servers such as Nginx, Apache, or cloud-hosted application environments
  • Understanding of web application performance concepts such as lazy loading, optimized rendering, asset management, and computational efficiency
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, and estimation using tools such as Jira
