Job description

Position Description & Qualifications Senior Navigation Systems Management Analyst If you are motivated to play an important role in helping to develop, integrate, field, and support critical command and control capability for our Navy ships and Sailors, read on for this exciting opportunity. The Senior Navigation Systems Management Analyst provides senior-level technical support for the Command-and-Control acquisition program office in Portfolio Acquisition Executive (PAE) Mission Systems. You will provide direct support to your Navy program office customer as part of an integrated team from our office right outside the Washington Navy Yard near Washington Nationals Stadium and by telework.

Responsibilities In this role you will: * Provide subject matter expert in support of the Navy's Surface Ship Navigation program and its associated systems and acquisition projects. Provide project leadership in support of efforts related to the Navigation systems portfolio such as systems test and evaluation, Systems Engineering Integrated Product Team (IPT) and documentation support, system requirements development, acquisition management, and road mapping of planned advances and improvements. Support efforts in integration within the combat and command and control system, Science and Technology (S&T), and Cybersecurity.

* Assist with integration/interface coordination between multiple systems in the Nav portfolio. * Coordinate the generation and review of programmatic documentation for various engineering efforts. * Support senior technical personnel and program managers in the planning, oversight, and execution of advanced projects related to research & development and acquisition programs.

Typically support multiple project activities such as development, T&E, production, and sustainment. Provide guidance and mentoring to team members. * Comply with applicable quality and security procedures in the performance of duties.

Follow standards for internal quality assurance of work products. Review work of junior staff for quality, completeness, and technical correctness. * Provide expert consultation for the design, development and implementation of technical products and systems.

Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and provide consultation on complex projects. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. * As the senior Serco team member under subcontract to a prime contractor, perform supervisory functions for a small Serco team such as timekeeping approval, travel request and claim review and approval, training tracking, etc.

* Provide contract management functions such as working with a contract manager and financial manager to assist with management and execution of your contract and coordinating Serco activities with the prime contract program manager. * Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications, Education and Experience To be successful in this role, you will have: * Bachelor's degree plus 8 or more years of related experience related to the job description listed above.

In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 12 years of applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted based on education, highly specialized knowledge, or uniquely applicable experience. * Strong background with DoW acquisition programs, surface Navy weapons, sensors, combat systems, or command and control systems.

* Secret security clearance required at time of hire which requires US Citizenship. * The ability to attend meetings on-site in-person at the Washington Navy Yard office upon customers' requirements. * Must be able to successfully pass drug screen and background check.

* Ability to provide support in the NCR, National Capital Region, and a minimum of 2-3 days per week, onsite at our customer site near the Maritime Plaza II location, Washington, DC. The on-site days in the Serco office may be increased to provide onsite support up to 5 days per week to support the needs of the customer. Exact days in office at the customer site must be coordinated with customers and approved by your Serco manager.

Additional desired experience and skills: * A Degree in a technical or management discipline. * Experience in one or more areas related to DoW program management such as systems engineering, accelerated acquisition, Test & Evaluation, agile development, etc. * Advanced system knowledge or operational Navy experience with Navy C4I, Navigation, or Combat System equipment and software.
