The Opportunity
Ironclad Defense Works is seeking a Space Program Senior Management Support Expert for the NATO Space Capability Program at Allied Command Transformation in Norfolk, Virginia. You will provide senior program-management, capability-development, governance, risk, and coordination support across NATO commands, agencies, allied nations, and commercial space stakeholders.
This role requires a professional with demonstrated experience in capability development, military space, command-and-control systems, multinational program management, and defense acquisition.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support delivery, synchronization, and implementation of the NATO Space Capability Program and associated projects.
  • Coordinate program activities across HQ SACT, SHAPE, AIRCOM, NCIA, NSPA, allied nations, and commercial partners.
  • Develop and refine project proposals, implementation plans, program reviews, risk registers, dashboards, and capability roadmaps.
  • Support synchronization of Operational Space Support, Space Domain Awareness, and Space Domain Coordination capabilities.
  • Identify, analyze, and mitigate program risks, interdependencies, and critical paths.
  • Support program governance, project-management team meetings, Bi-Strategic Command coordination, and senior-leader engagements.
  • Coordinate with architects, subject-matter experts, national representatives, and industry stakeholders.
  • Support capability architecture development and analyses of alternatives.
  • Support space-related experimentation, wargaming, demonstrations, exercises, and lessons-learned activities.
  • Support implementation of NATO commercial space initiatives.
  • Prepare reports, decision briefs, analyses, recommendations, and executive presentations.
  • Provide direct analytical and program support to Space Branch leadership.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, systems engineering, aerospace, computer science, or a closely related discipline.
  • At least five years of experience in NATO capability development, program management, or defense acquisition.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NATO Space policy, Capability Program Plan governance, and program-management team processes.
  • At least three years of operational knowledge of command-and-control systems within the last 10 years.
  • At least three years of capability-development and management experience in the C2 area within the last 10 years.
  • Experience supporting multinational programs and senior-level governance bodies.
  • Recent program or project management experience in a complex and dynamic environment.
  • Working knowledge of capability architectures.
  • Working knowledge of configuration-management methods and practices.
  • Experience with IBM Rational DOORS or an equivalent requirements-management tool.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and collaborative software.
  • Active NATO or national Secret clearance.
  • Citizenship and a valid passport from a NATO member nation.
  • Ability to travel throughout NATO nations without restriction.
  • Professional proficiency in English.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in systems engineering, aerospace engineering, science, computer science, program management, or a related discipline.
  • Ten or more years of NATO capability-development, program-management, or defense-acquisition experience.
  • Five or more years supporting NATO Space policy, governance, or program-management activities.
  • Prior work with HQ SACT, SHAPE, AIRCOM, NCIA, NSPA, a NATO defense ministry, or an allied military space organization.
  • Experience with Operational Space Support, Space Domain Awareness, or Space Domain Coordination.
  • Experience supporting military space exercises, experimentation, architecture development, or capability roadmaps.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, MSP, systems-engineering, configuration-management, or requirements-management certification.
  • Formal IBM Rational DOORS training or certification.
Clearance
This position requires an active NATO or National SECRET (or higher) security clearance. Applicants who do not possess the clearance specified above cannot be considered at this time.
Compensation
Compensation for this position ranges from $140,000 to $175,000 annually. Final salary will be based on factors such as experience, education, skills, qualifications, location, contract requirements, and overall affordability.
