This Institutional Investment Consultant will service the territory of Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and Maine for our Investments Management Group. The role will require the Series 7 & 63 licenses with the 66 strongly preferred. Living within the territory is required.

Job Description Summary

We distribute mutual funds for Nationwide's Investment Management Group, to our institutional and intermediary customers. If you can put your analytical, technical and customer service skills to work identifying and providing investment solutions to meet opportunities for growth, we want to know more about you!
As an Institutional Investment Consultant, you will be responsible for the distribution of Nationwide mutual funds within a defined territory, across all distribution channels (Independent advisors, Hybrid advisors, wire house advisors, and RIA), with an emphasis on larger RIA firms.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Increase Nationwide Mutual Fund assets under management (AUM) by attracting new assets and retaining existing assets.

  • Anticipate and address client investment needs based on current market conditions.

  • Advise and consult financial advisors on how Nationwide Mutual Funds can help grow their business and meet their client needs.

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the Nationwide investment suite and investment insights that can be shared to existing and prospective clients.

  • Build and maintains a territory business plan and adjusts accordingly to meet changing market conditions.

  • Represent Nationwide Mutual Funds at industry events and conferences to raise brand awareness and drive sales.

  • Use industry and competitive intelligence to achieve sales goals.

  • Build and execute optimal prospecting and client outreach strategies to conduct regular in person and virtual meetings.

  • Maximize Nationwide resources to build brand awareness and achieve sales targets.

  • Lead and direct all sales efforts within defined territory.

  • Collaborate with all internal partners and team members including, manager research, product, marketing, and sales teams.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to Director, Institutional Sales

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education: Bachelor's degree and advanced degree a plus.

Licenses & Certifications: Series 7 and 63 required. CIMA or other advanced designations are a plus.

Experience: 5-7 years of financial services industry experience and 3-5 years of investment product sales experience. Extensive knowledge of investment products, Experience in intermediary distribution and working with platforms, RIA's, and financial advisors across various channels. Ideal candidate will be based in the territory and have existing relationships.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Strong interpersonal and analytic skills. Excellent team member who can find ways to contribute to growth and retention efforts. Advanced knowledge of investments and portfolio construction trends. Excellent presentation and written communication skills. Ability to build and maintain relationships with senior investment professionals within prospect and client firms and internally within Nationwide Financial. Disciplined and consistently follows established processes. Proven excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize opportunities, workload, and resources.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager's leader and Human Resource Business Partner.
