About this role:
As Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving the company's shipping, receiving, inventory movement, and logistics compliance programs. This role will oversee all inbound and outbound logistics operations across the organization, ensuring materials are handled safely, securely, efficiently, and in accordance with internal controls and applicable regulations. The ideal candidate brings experience operating in highly regulated or classified environments and understands the operational rigor required when handling sensitive materials, equipment, or government-controlled assets.
This position will work cross-functionally with operations, production, engineering, facilities, EH&S, procurement, security, and leadership teams to establish scalable logistics infrastructure supporting company growth.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement company-wide shipping and receiving processes, procedures, and controls
  • Establish scalable logistics programs supporting manufacturing, production, and operational activities
  • Oversee all inbound and outbound shipments, including material handling, carrier coordination, packaging, documentation, and inventory transactions
  • Manage secure handling, storage, movement, and tracking of sensitive or controlled materials and equipment
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, export controls, security protocols, and applicable transportation regulations
  • Develop and maintain logistics documentation including SOPs, chain-of-custody records, shipment logs, and audit-ready tracking systems
  • Coordinate closely with production, procurement, and engineering teams to support operational schedules and material availability
  • Manage warehouse, shipping, receiving, and inventory workflows to ensure accuracy and efficiency
  • Select and manage transportation vendors, freight providers, and shipping partners
  • Monitor shipping performance metrics, inventory accuracy, and operational KPIs
  • Identify process gaps and drive continuous improvement initiatives across logistics operations
  • Support internal and external audits related to inventory, compliance, security, and logistics activities
  • Develop logistics contingency planning and risk mitigation strategies
  • Lead, train, and mentor shipping and receiving personnel as the organization scales
  • Ensure adherence to safety, security, and material handling procedures across all logistics activities

Basic Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience in logistics, shipping and receiving, warehouse operations, or supply chain management
  • Experience developing and implementing shipping and receiving programs in manufacturing, industrial, defense, aerospace, nuclear, or similarly regulated environments
  • Demonstrated experience handling sensitive, controlled, classified, or export-regulated materials
  • Strong understanding of shipping documentation, inventory controls, material traceability, and chain-of-custody procedures
  • Experience managing freight carriers, transportation vendors, and logistics operations
  • Strong operational leadership and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional coordination abilities
  • Proven ability to develop scalable processes and drive operational improvements
  • High attention to detail with strong documentation and record-keeping discipline
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving operational environment
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, accountability, and sound judgment

Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Experience working within classified government, defense, DOE, DOD, aerospace, nuclear, or other highly secure environments
  • Familiarity with handling ITAR, EAR, hazardous, or other regulated materials
  • Experience implementing warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory systems, or ERP logistics modules
  • Experience supporting audit and compliance programs
  • Knowledge of logistics security and secure transportation procedures
  • Experience building logistics functions in startup or rapidly scaling environments
  • APICS, CLTD, CSCP, or related supply chain/logistics certifications preferred
  • Experience leading teams across shipping, receiving, and inventory operations
  • Forklift certification or experience managing industrial material handling operations preferred
Additional Requirements:
  • Physical effort including standing, lifting, and carrying equipment up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Must be able to work all required shift hours, overtime and/or weekends as needed.

Compensation and Benefits
The base salary range for this role is $120,000-$180,000 annually.
Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. Please note that the stated salary range is an estimate and may be adjusted based on market conditions, business needs, or other factors. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
