Job description

Cardinal Health's Global Medical Products and Distribution ("GMPD") segment, focuses on U.S. and International Products and Distribution businesses. The National Director of Corporate Accounts (NDCA) is responsible for managing and expanding relationships with three to five of the US Medical Products and Distribution (USMPD) organization's largest and most strategic customers. This role involves identifying growth opportunities, negotiating complex agreements, and developing national contract strategies that require strong strategic planning, communication skills, and the ability to consistently achieve business objectives. The NDCA collaborates closely with Acute and NonAcute leadership, regional sales teams, and contracting partners to develop and execute comprehensive strategies for key accounts. While the position is highly salesfocused, it also requires extensive account management, relationship development, and crossfunctional coordination to ensure customer satisfaction and sustained longterm growth. The NDCA serves as a critical liaison between clients and internal teams, ensuring seamless communication and alignment across the segment.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Relationship Management: Ownership of C-suite and senior-level relationships with national distributors, Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs), and health systems.
  • Contract & Negotiation: Lead the development, negotiation, and execution of complex national contracts, including RFPs, pricing, rebates, and distribution agreements.
  • Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop strategic account plans, identify new opportunities, and provide direction to field sales teams for effective contract rollout and compliance.
  • Internal Collaboration: Act as a liaison, coordinating internal functions like marketing, operations, legal, and finance to align strategies and support customer needs.
  • Leadership: Oversight into account, indirectly leading product teams, setting goals, and ensuring consistent performance in set accounts.
  • Market & Data Analysis: Analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, and customer data to inform strategy and demonstrate value.
  • Profitability & Growth: Strengthen account profitability and ensure effective implementation of programs that support shared goals and sustainable growth.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or applicable experience preferred.
  • Strong background in complex selling situations, and ability to cultivate and maintain trusting relationships at all levels. Proven success selling diversified product solutions and services.
  • Deep understanding of hospital supply chains, clinical areas, and health economics.
  • Strong proficiency in negotiating complex, multi-year contracts and understanding financial acumen.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence, develop, and guide teams toward achieving strategic goals.
  • Clear, concise proactive communication skills. Demonstrated ability to manage customer expectations.
  • Strong track record of operating and leading within complex organizations. Highly influential with experience achieving results with/through others.
  • Ability to analyze complex business issues and lead the development of customized action plans to drive value for the customer and Cardinal Health
  • Excellent organizational skills, highly accountable and results driven.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 50% of time.
  • Customer/Vendor credentialing is required (this may include vaccinations). More details will be provided if you are selected for an interview.
  • Ability to work remotely from home/field requires a dedicated, quiet, private, distraction free environment with access to high-speed internet. We will provide you with the computer, technology and equipment needed to successfully perform your job. You will be responsible for providing high-speed internet & cell phone.

Anticipated pay range: $200,000-$250,000 (includes targeted variable pay)

The salary range listed is an estimate. Pay at Cardinal Health is determined by multiple factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's geographical location, relevant education, experience and skills and an evaluation of internal pay equity.
