Position Summary

The Chief of Staff serves as a trusted strategic advisor and operational partner to the Executive Vice President, while working closely with the President and executive leadership team. This highly visible role is responsible for driving strategic initiatives, facilitating cross-functional collaboration, managing executive priorities, and ensuring the successful execution of organizational objectives.

The Chief of Staff provides executive-level leadership, project management, organizational oversight, and strategic counsel across a broad range of corporate initiatives. This position serves as a key liaison between executive leadership, department leaders, external stakeholders, and the Board of Directors, ensuring alignment, accountability, and timely execution of the organization's priorities.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Advises the President and the Executive Vice Presidenton a variety of company issues and assists in developing policy.
  • Works directly and on behalf of the President and the Executive Vice President and advises them on various issues and discussions with staff regarding policy and action items.
  • Works directly with senior leadership and staff on developing initiatives and updating the President and the Executive Vice President as to the progress of those initiatives.
  • Advises the President and the Executive Vice President on delivery of tasks and coordinates on behalf of the President and the Executive Vice President, the implementation of services or action items that involve several departments.
  • Assures implementation of programs developed and initiated by the President and the Executive Vice President.
  • Assists in managing Board matters including logistics pertaining to meetings and meeting materials.
  • Directly manages the calendar of meetings for the President and the Executive Vice President sand meetings of the senior leadership team.
  • Responsible for the development of agendas for recurring meetings of the senior leader team and executive leadership team meetings.
  • Attend company sponsored events that relate to the development of the team, which from time to time may include overnight stays at locations away from the employee’s home.

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to prepare executive presentations, reports, and briefing materials.

Education & Experience

 

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Public Administration, Communications, Organizational Leadership, or a related field required.
  • Master's degree (MBA, MPA, or related discipline) preferred.
  • Seven to ten years of progressively responsible experience supporting senior executives or executive leadership teams, including experience in strategic planning, operations, project management, or organizational leadership.
  • Experience working with Boards of Directors, executive committees, or governing bodies preferred.
  • Experience within affordable housing, nonprofit organizations, community development, real estate development, government relations, or similarly complex organizations is highly desirable.
  • Experience collaborating with municipal agencies, public officials, and community stakeholders is preferred.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment

 

  • Work is primarily performed in a professional office environment.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally as needed for business purposes.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
