Job description

The Los Angeles Dodgers currently have a job opportunity for Culinary Associate/Kitchen Assistant. Clean and store all kitchen pots, pans, utensils and dishes either by hand or utilizing dishwashing equipment. Perform basic culinary food preparation and other duties as instructed by the Manager of Performance Nutrition or Head Performance Chef.

Reports to: Manager of Performance Nutrition
*Compensation rates vary based on job-related factors, including experience, job skills, education, and training.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Operate dishwasher/pot sinks to wash and store pots, pans, utensils, and dishware
  • Stocking and cleaning of coolers, refrigerators, snacks, coffee machines, and maintenance of the front of the house dining area
  • Keep refrigerators and dry good shelves clean and organized. Ensure accurate labeling, dating, and rotating (using the FIFO method) of all raw and prepared food products
  • Perform side work as needed, i.e. break down boxes and remove trash, receive and put away paper and food orders, inventory and stocking of beverages and snacks
  • Perform daily cleaning, i.e. sinks, drains, metro shelves, trash bins, floors, freezer/refrigerators, dining lounge
  • Prepare meats and vegetables by washing, seasoning and cutting with meat slicer and knife safely
  • Ensure all food is prepared, handled and stored according to all required food safety code standards
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment in accordance with state and federal health department standards
  • Report any sanitation or janitorial issues to culinary team
  • Operate and properly use kitchen equipment according to recipes/standard operating procedures, i.e. mixers, induction burners, dishwasher, etc.
  • Monitor cleaning supplies inventory levels
  • Assist culinary team with production as needed

Basic Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Previous dishwashing or entry level food handling experience a plus
  • Must be able to safely utilize all kitchen equipment
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills
  • Must be able to walk, kneel, bend, and reach overhead
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Must be able to speak and read English
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, as needed
  • Must have own transportation
