Overview

***This position is physically located in the Marshall Islands in support of LOGCAP***

The Morale, Welfare, & Recreation (MWR) Foreman will be based in Kwajalein Atoll and service the LOGCAP V contract. This employee will be responsible for the coordination and implementation of MWR programs and facility operations in accordance with the MWR PWS, SOP’s and Vectrus Management objectives and will report to the MWR Supervisor. The duties and responsibilities listed below are a representation of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.


Responsibilities

This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.

  • Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace
  • Comply with all Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements and goals. Provide information and materials to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentation.
  • Plans, develops, implements and evaluates comprehensive recreation programs and services.
  • Maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the facility. Act immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency.
  • Ensures MWR Employees adhere to Performance Work Statement (PWS) and SOP Procedures to include those for MWR, Key Control, Quality, Safety, Property and others
  • Assigns and delegates functions, tasks, projects and special assignments to subordinates. Employs a collaborative approach to foster open communication among team members; conducts regular team meeting to focus and engage staff members.
  • Ensure bulletin boards are up to date with recent and upcoming flyers, as well as help in setting up and tear down of base wide events and programs
  • Works in close coordination with the MWR Supervisor, other Supervisors, Leads, and appropriate external agencies to create a continuous flow of information regarding MWR operations.
  • Directs MWR Technicians and Local Nationals in the performance of their duties
  • Present professional appearance and attitude always. Maintain a high standard of customer service.
  • Perform various daily maintenance and cleaning duties as directed to maintain clean and safe facilities
  • Prepare and maintain appropriate activity reports
  • Develops, implements, and applies control procedures to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Adhere to SOP procedure, work instructions, and Vectrus policies and procedures
  • Supports the achievement of Vectrus' metrics, whether metrics are directly or indirectly affected by this position’s work activities.
  • Work a flexible schedule to include some nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Performs other duties as required and directed by MWR Management.

  • Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education/Certifications:
    • High school diploma and two (2) years of relevant experience within which one (1) year were in a supervisory position required.
    • Must be CAC eligible and/or able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a host country driver's license.
  • Experience:
    • Two (2) years of relevant supervisory experience preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Must exhibit strong organization and communication skills.
    • Must have a customer service background.
    • Read, write, and speak English at a proficiency level 3.
  • Working Conditions:
    • Must be capable of working in a tropical weather condition with temperatures exceeding 85 degrees Fahrenheit.
    • Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, wet, tropical environment with average temperatures of 85 degrees in the summer months).
    • The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.
    • The worker is subject to environmental conditions. Protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
    • Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
    • Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
    • Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
