Job description

We are seeking a Project Manager to lead and support the full lifecycle execution of projects from planning through closeout. This role will serve as the single point of accountability (or operate under senior leadership) to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, budget, and quality expectations. This role is hybrid 3 days onsite a week.


This position is ideal for candidates with strong core project management experience and a background in utilities, energy, transmission/distribution, substations, or generation. Candidates with experience in large-scale telecom, construction, or civil engineering projects will also be considered.


Rate: 45-55/hr W-2

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Team Management

  • Build, lead, and manage cross-functional project teams
  • Coordinate internal and external stakeholders including engineering, construction, supply chain, legal, EHS, QA/QC, and operations
  • Provide day-to-day oversight, delegation, and conflict resolution across matrixed teams

Project Planning & Execution

  • Develop and manage project plans covering scope, schedule, cost, safety, and quality
  • Drive key planning activities including estimating, schedule development, procurement strategies, and resource planning
  • Oversee execution across all project phases: design, construction, commissioning, turnover, and warranty

Schedule, Budget & Reporting

  • Manage project timelines, milestones, and deliverables
  • Track and control project costs and performance
  • Provide regular reporting (weekly/monthly updates, project reviews, stakeholder presentations)

Stakeholder Communication

  • Establish and maintain communication across all stakeholders
  • Lead meetings including kickoffs, status updates, and executive reviews
  • Present project status clearly to leadership and governance teams

Risk, Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
  • Manage risk, change control, and quality assurance processes
  • Maintain documentation and project closeout procedures

Project Scope

  • Manage multiple small to mid-sized projects (typically under $10M)
  • Projects are generally low to moderate complexity and focused at the facility or department level



Required Qualifications

  • Project Manager I
  • Associate’s degree + 2+ years of relevant experience
  • OR
  • High school diploma/GED + 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong experience with:
  • Project scheduling, planning, and milestone tracking
  • Managing deliverables and project reporting


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or CAPM
  • Professional Engineer (PE)
  • CM2-P Certification
  • Experience in utilities, energy, or infrastructure-related projects


Nice to Have Experience

  • Utilities (transmission, distribution, substations, generation)
  • Telecom or large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Construction or civil engineering environments


Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
