Job Summary
US Traffic Control specializes in work zone traffic control. We are seeking a full-time Project Manager to oversee the management and coordination of municipal and utility construction projects. The ideal candidate will have the ability to read and interpret construction and Maintenance of Traffic (MPT) plans for road and bridge projects. This role requires a balance of field and office work, based on business needs. Experience with road and bridge construction is preferred.
Responsibilities Include:
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for traffic control scopes including labor, materials, equipment, and project duration based on MPT plans and project specifications.
  • Review, interpret, and assist with the development and modification of Maintenance of Traffic (MPT) plans in accordance with MUTCD standards and municipal requirements.
  • Manage multiple assigned projects simultaneously, overseeing on-site traffic control installations to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient execution.
  • Maintain project schedules and budgets while ensuring compliance with contract requirements
  • Negotiate and prepare agreements for successful execution of work, including bid packages and contract documents
  • Develop timelines for the sequencing of the project, including labor and materials needed
  • Oversee construction activities, including coordination with both prime and other subcontractors on the project
  • Review RFIs, change requests, and plan revisions, providing timely responses and assessing impacts to cost, schedule, and scope.
  • Communicate and work closely with foreman on projects, as well as municipality workers and other customers to support day-to-day project execution and resolve issues
  • Assist with ordering, scheduling, and tracking materials and equipment required to complete traffic control operations.
  • Prepare contracts for signature, coordinate insurance, maintain contract files, and update tracking lists.
  • Manage renewals for all required business licenses and permits, including CCA and Thruway permits.
  • Complete closeout paperwork and prepare correspondence confirming achievement of project goals.
  • Prime Contracts & DOT Support: Coordinate insurance and required documentation, respond to DOT requests, and maintain EBO compliance as needed.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree required in a related field
  • 2+ years of experience as a project manager in a construction related field
  • Proven leadership skills and an ability to professionally resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Valid NYS Driver's License
  • All Applicants will be subject to a pre-employment drug testing
