Summary
Responsible for the planning and management of multiple projects through the entire life cycle, executing within the framework of an approved Statement of Work (SOW) and PMO project delivery methodology resulting in predictable outcomes. Leads Professional Services teams in design, planning, management, implementation, and delivery of technology solutions on time, within budget and providing exceptional customer service. Primary activities include project management, internal and external communications, project cost management, and interfacing with client and internal technical project teams. Projects assigned will include IT Professional Services infrastructure deployments with focus in the following technologies: Low-voltage Cabling, Audio-Visual, Unified Communications, Networking, Security/Threat Management, and/or Data Center builds.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plans, schedules, and directs day-to-day activities of assigned engagements, recording and communicating essential project activity and status information.
  • Directs, communicates, and exhibits exceptional leadership behaviors to manage effective delivery of services and processes.
  • Conducts project planning, execution, controlling, and closing activities in accordance with Logicalis Project Management Methodology.
  • Oversees any third-party vendors or partners' deliverables to Logicalis in coordination with vendor Project Manager.
  • Ensures effective management throughout life of engagement as follows:
  • Scope Management: Ensures planning and execution of tasks, activities, and deliverables are consistent with the requirements defined in the SOW. When new scope is introduced, leads the effort in Change Management and development of a Project Change Request.
  • Resource Management: Executes according to established policies and procedures for engagement; ensures time entry is performed per policy by delivery consultants; ensures resources assigned to engagement are available and performing work as assigned and planned; oversight of workflow management, appropriate use of tools and processes to support delivery of the services, and in accordance with policies.
  • Project Budget Management: Ensures profitability targets are met or exceeded, all invoices are generated and submitted in timely manner, and monitors and communicates Earned Value throughout the life of the project.
  • Schedule Management: Creates and maintains master project plan; compares actual performance with planned performance, analyze variances, and takes corrective action as needed to maintain schedule adherence; tracks and communicates progress against Milestones and quality gates.
  • Risk/Issue Management: Applies continuous risk management protocols (identifies and documents known risks) throughout engagement, applying appropriate mitigation strategies
  • Communications Management: Responsible for development of a Communication Plan to define the cadence and content for project meetings, status reporting, escalation management, etc., for customers, stakeholders, and the project team.
  • Quality Management: Ensures deliverables are substantiated, validated, and provided to customer per terms of the SOW and that the customer is satisfied with the services provided.
  • Demonstrates deep understanding of project management methodologies, practices, tools, and techniques; effective leadership, and applies appropriate collaboration skills while working in a matrixed environment.
  • Documents and shares lessons learned to support continuous process improvement.
  • Demonstrates and actively promotes an understanding and commitment to the mission of Logicalis through performing behaviors consistent with the organization's values.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations as well as policies and procedures of Logicalis in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behaviors.
  • Supports and conducts self in a manner consistent with customer service expectations.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no direct reports. However, this role provides direction to resources allocated to deliver projects assigned.

Education/Experience/Technical Requirements/Certifications
Equivalent combination accepted.
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field and formal Project Management Training (preferred)
  • Associate's Degree in a related field with extensive experience in IT and/or Low voltage cabling

Experience / Technical Requirements:
  • Experience leading projects in new construction or remodel environments (preferred)
  • 5 years project management and/or Technical Team Lead experience in IT Professional Services infrastructure deployments with focus in the following technologies: Low-voltage Cabling, Audio-Visual, Unified Communications, Networking, Security/Threat Management, and/or Data Center builds
  • Proficient use of all Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Project, and experience working within Project or Project Portfolio or Workforce Management systems.

Certifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • CAPM, ITIL, and/or technical certifications.

Other Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to manage through high level of ambiguity and multiple requests from variety of sources.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and balance the client and resources needs across all owned engagements.
  • Polished and professional technical/business communication skills and ability to interact with clients in a professional and business appropriate manner.
  • Must be able to have business level conversation with customers and assist them in deploying solutions to meet business requirements.
