Job Description

The ideal candidate will demonstrate complex skills. They identify root causes and resolve issues. They also assist more junior level technicians, specialists, and managers in their activities. They work individually, actively participate on integrated teams, and may lead a project, task, or team.

The Level 2 Project Scheduler:

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Facilitates weekly meetings

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Provides recommendations to the program manager for allocation of management reserve to address resource/schedule constraints

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Coordinates a cross-walk of milestones and interdependencies among projects and/or functional areas (engineering, manufacturing, test, quality control, etc).

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Provides support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Designs, develops, and maintains detailed resource-loaded schedules for implementation, developmental and operational systems

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Works with developmental and operational teams to develop detailed schedules and assists in keeping these schedules current

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Uses or recommends automated tools such as MS Project, Primavera or program mandated software

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Develops and or modifies project schedules and or the integration of multiple project schedules into an overall Master Program Schedule

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Maintains the overall Master Program/Project Schedule

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Links project schedules with the overarching program, Investment Portfolio, functional area and/or other Integrated Master Plans (IMPs)

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Provides hands-on development of layered schedules and IMPs that address how an acquisition project is progressing and how that project contributes to overarching requirements and objectives

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Maintains status on linkages and dependencies with related projects

Qualifications

Certifications: Must have successfully completed an advanced level MS Project or similar project scheduling software course

Education and Years of Relevant Experience:

ย ย ย ย ย ย  High School Diploma/GED and 8 years of relevant experience; or

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Associate's Degree and 6 years of relevant experience; or

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of relevant experience; or

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Master's Degree and 2 years of relevant experience; or

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Ph.D.

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Must have 2 years of demonstrated experience managing a schedule for an engineering program involving hardware and software development and multiple sub-components using MS Project or similar project scheduling software.

Clearance: Active TS/SCI
