Job description

Amentum has an excellent opportunity for a Project Scheduler to join our team in our Springfield VA location.
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project Scheduler to join our project management team. In this role, you will work alongside our existing team of schedulers to develop, maintain, and analyze project schedules for Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts. This position offers a flexible schedule, providing the opportunity to work both on-site and from home.
The ideal candidate will have robust experience with MS-Project software and a proven track record of managing project trackers, ensuring timely reporting, and delivering critical schedule documentation.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Create, baseline, and maintain detailed project schedules for IDIQ contracts utilizing MS-Project software.
  • Collaborate and work alongside other project schedulers, project managers, and engineering teams to ensure schedule alignment, resource optimization, and accurate forecasting.
  • Manage and routinely update the comprehensive projects tracker to facilitate accurate weekly reporting to internal leadership and clients.
  • Prepare, review, and formally submit the weekly Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) deliverables.
  • Generate, analyze, and submit the weekly Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), ensuring all timelines, milestones, and critical path dependencies are accurately reflected.
  • Monitor project progress against baseline schedules, actively identifying potential delays, bottlenecks, or risks, and recommending corrective actions.
  • Participate in regular project review meetings to provide schedule status updates, performance metrics, and insights.
  • Ensure all scheduling practices and reports comply with company standards and strict contract requirements.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience: Proven professional experience as a Project Scheduler with advanced proficiency in MS-Project software.
  • Specialized Knowledge: Demonstrated experience developing detailed schedules for IDIQ contracts and a strong understanding of managing Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) and CDRL submissions.
  • Teamwork: Strong ability to work seamlessly alongside other schedulers and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, specifically for maintaining trackers and presenting weekly reports.
  • Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Security Clearance: Must possess an active Top-Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance.
