Job Description

Sourcing/Purchasing Specialist


On behalf of our client, Procom Services is searching for a Sourcing/Purchasing Specialist for a contract opportunity. This resource can be based in either in Dallas, TX or Sunnyvale, CA.


Sourcing/Purchasing Specialist Job Details

In this role you will take responsibility for professional services purchases from key suppliers. An ideal candidate is someone experienced in "indirect" (or MRO) purchasing with deep experience managing a portfolio of categories in the area of professional services that include repair services, market research, marketing related services, HR services, etc.


Primary Day to day responsibilities:

Perform sourcing, negotiation, supplier selection and contract review within assigned supplier and commodity categories.

Review assigned purchase orders and contracts, negotiate costs and contractual terms prior to PO assurance and contract execution.

Analyze and interpret data to identify cost saving opportunities and recommend sourcing strategy and contract award decisions.

Develop sourcing strategy and conduct supplier negotiations with the capability to meet targets, manage concessions and deliver results.

Manage supplier relationship and improve supplier performance.

Administer supplier contracts and maintain associated documentations and reports.


Sourcing/Purchasing Specialist Mandatory Skills


Minimum undergraduate degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance or related discipline required

MBA preferred, Procurement and Supply Chain Certifications a plus


Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication and presentation skills for effective dealings with internal stakeholders, executive team, suppliers and team members.

5+ years in Purchasing and Contract Negotiation. Experienced with developing request for proposals, soliciting bids, performing bid analysis, contract negotiation and contract review.

Recent experience with Oracle 11i Purchasing Module or similar ERP system is required.

In depth knowledge and experience negotiating a wide range of consulting agreements, subcontract agreements, statement of works including legal terms and conditions.

Track record of successfully negotiating large national and global contracts resulting in significant savings.

Expert level working with Excel, Power Point, and Word.
