Job description

AMO is looking for an experienced Telecommunications Specialist to support Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) in Orlando, Florida. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting enterprise telecommunications systems, voice/data infrastructure, PBX operations, cabling, VTC connectivity, and IT service delivery in a complex technical environment. Responsibilities The Telecommunications Specialist will support enterprise telecommunications and IT operations, including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, coordination, documentation, and customer support. Responsibilities include: * Support the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and administration of telecommunications systems, PBX/voicemail systems, conferencing systems, VTC connectivity, circuits, and related IT infrastructure.
* Analyze telecommunications, cabling, voice, data, network, and system issues to identify root causes and implement practical solutions.
* Perform installation, testing, certification, repair, and maintenance of voice/data cabling, network drops, telecom circuits, and associated infrastructure.
* Coordinate telecommunications moves, adds, changes, installations, cutovers, and service requests with customers, IT teams, maintenance personnel, vendors, and government stakeholders.
* Support planning and execution of telecommunications expansion, modernization, cabling, and infrastructure projects.
* Monitor system reports, alerts, error messages, equipment status, and performance indicators to identify issues and take corrective action.
* Maintain accurate documentation, spreadsheets, inventories, cable assignments, phone number assignments, circuit records, and other telecommunications data.
* Support change management, issue tracking, service request documentation, and status reporting using tools such as Jira or similar systems.
* Provide technical support to leadership, staff, end users, and tenant organizations regarding telecommunications capabilities, service requests, system features, and operational requirements. Qualifications * Active Secret clearance required.
* 3+ years of experience working in an enterprise IT, telecommunications, or technical operations environment.
* Experience troubleshooting telecommunications systems, voice/data infrastructure, cabling, network connectivity, or general IT operations issues.
* Experience supporting PBX systems, voicemail systems, conferencing systems, VTC connectivity, circuits, cabling, or related telecommunications infrastructure.
* Experience coordinating service requests, moves/adds/changes, installations, maintenance actions, cutovers, or customer support activities.
* Experience documenting work activities, maintaining records, updating issue tracking systems, and reporting status or resolution to peers, leads, managers, or customers.
* Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, system reports, diagrams, blueprints, cable pathways, alarms, or infrastructure documentation.
Desired Qualifications: * Experience supporting telecommunications services in a DoD, Navy, Federal Government, or multi-building campus environment.
* Experience with Nortel, Avaya, Meridian, CS1000, CallPilot, PBX, voicemail, call detail recording, 911, conferencing bridge, or similar telecommunications systems.
* Experience installing, testing, certifying, troubleshooting, or repairing Cat 5e/Cat 6 voice and data cabling.
* Experience supporting ISDN, PRI, BRI, DSN, VoIP, VTC, analog lines, digital lines, trunks, circuits, CSU/DSU equipment, or related voice communications infrastructure.
* Experience coordinating with commercial vendors, government personnel, maintenance teams, IT departments, and end users for circuit installations, cutovers, service changes, and technical requirements.
* Training or certification in telecommunications systems, PBX maintenance, trunk interfaces, ISDN, voice systems, or structured cabling.
* Strong customer service skills with the ability to explain technical capabilities, limitations, policies, and solutions to non-technical users.
