We are seeking a highly skilled IT Storage Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience to support mission-critical infrastructure for a federal government client. This role requires hands-on expertise in enterprise storage systems, data protection, and performance optimization in secure environments. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working within federal agencies and must hold an active Full Scope Polygraph (FS Poly) clearance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and manage enterprise storage solutions (SAN, NAS, object storage).
  • Monitor and optimize storage performance, capacity, and availability.
  • Perform data migrations, backups, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Collaborate with system administrators, network engineers, and security teams to ensure seamless integration and compliance.
  • Maintain documentation for storage architecture, configurations, and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex storage-related issues.
  • Ensure compliance with federal security standards and policies.
Required Qualifications:
  • Active FS Polygraph Clearance (no exceptions).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in IT storage engineering or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of storage technologies such as NetApp, EMC, Hitachi, Dell, or similar.
  • Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud storage integration.
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery tools (Commvault, Veeam, etc.).
  • Proven experience supporting federal government IT environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Industry certifications (e.g., NetApp NCDA, EMC Proven Professional, VMware VCP).
  • Experience with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, etc.).
  • Understanding of DoD or IC compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, RMF).
Work Environment:
  • On-site at Fort Meade, MD.
  • Secure, high-demand federal environment.
  • Collaborative team setting with cross-functional technical teams.
