Job description

SUMMARY
The Supplier Development specialist's primary responsibility is to support the supplier development department in developing and implementing new parts for the assigned PE system (Motor, GDU, Inverter) & ICCU assembly projects.
This role involves collaborating with suppliers to ensure that the parts they develop meet the required quality standards, are delivered on time, and meet the cost targets set by the company.
Ultimately, the Supplier development specialist's role is critical to the success of the supplier development department and the overall success of the PE system assembly project by ensuring that the parts delivered meet the required quality standards, are delivered on time, and help the company achieve its cost targets.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)
โ€ขAssists with part development and implementations for an assigned project with suppliers and other departments.
โ€ขConducts detailed project plans, tactical execution, schedules in each part project.
โ€ขProvides Management overview and reporting on critical project tasks.
โ€ขMaintains strong relationships with suppliers, internal and external customers.
โ€ขCommunicates regularly with upper management including HQ regarding the status of current projects, obtains upper management guidance and approval as required.
โ€ขAssists suppliers to meet the quality requirement during project and program.
โ€ขRespond to supply shortages for supplier-related issues.
โ€ขConducts Value engineering for any possible cost savings.
โ€ขSuggests ECR for cost reduction, quality improvement, and lean production.
โ€ขCollects and summarizes documents from suppliers and support HQ, Sales and Customer request.
โ€ขIs responsible for supplier's ISIR review and approval, supplier quality audit.
โ€ขOther tasks as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required and preferred for this position.)


Required Education & Experience:
โ€ขBachelor's degree in engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or equivalent related experience.


Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
โ€ขProficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
โ€ขGood written and verbal communication skills
โ€ขStrong analytical and technical skills


Preferred Education & Experience:
โ€ขExperience in automotive manufacturing industry.
โ€ขTechnical understanding of EV motor including its components and how they interact strongly preferred.
โ€ขExpertise in the manufacturing processes used by supplier to identify areas for improvement to reduce costs and improve quality.
โ€ขExperience in the Automotive industry Sourcing field.
โ€ขManufacturing process knowledge (Stamping, Forging, Welding, Die-casting, Machining, PCB Assembly, Material flow, etc.)
โ€ขAbility to understand 2D/3D drawings and knowledge of design tools.
โ€ขERP experience
โ€ข2+ years of experience in NPI (New Product Introduction), Supplier Development, Procurement, or Supply Chain Management, Supplier Quality management.

Working Conditions:
โ€ขOffice setting, some walking within and between buildings
โ€ขOvertime as needed.
โ€ขFrequent travel with possible overnight or extended stays
โ€ขWorking in all Supplier Development work groups if needed
โ€ขDomestic / International travel required (30%+)
