Motivate is seeking part-time Field Service Technicians for our Boston's bikeshare system. The technicians will help maintain station terminals and station components. Traveling around the system, the station technicians will check the docking stations and provide maintenance to ensure proper operations. The starting schedules are Sunday - Wednesday, 9:30 am - 5:30 pm and Wednesday - Saturday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. Please note that schedules are subject to change as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement and for business need.
About the Role
  • Complete maintenance and test functionality of station components performing all diagnostic testing, troubleshooting station malfunctions and issues, both simple and complex, and completing both minor and major repairs
  • Demonstrate expertise in all technical aspects and components of station hardware and software
  • Operate a motor vehicle and ride a bicycle throughout an urban environment
  • Ensure that all necessary reporting is accurate, complete, and timely
  • Complete special projects assigned by the management team

About You
  • You display technical aptitude for both electronics and mechanical systems; previous experience in technical troubleshooting, identifying, and resolving issues; a background with electronics, repair, construction, or related preferred
  • You have safety-minded first, experienced using a pallet jack and are comfortable with hand and power tools; forklift experience is a plus
  • You are technology-proficient, comfortable using smartphone apps, email, chat/text, and can learn new technology and software applications
  • You have a valid driver's license and can pass a motor vehicle record check
  • You are comfortable driving, stopping, and working in busy, outdoor urban environments
  • You can lift to 75 pounds and can stoop, bend, and stand for long periods
