Welcome to the intersection of energy and home services. At NRG, weโ€™re driven by our passion to create a smarter, cleaner and more connected future.

Vivint Smart Home, an NRG owned company, is a leading smart home company in the United States, dedicated to redefining the home experience with intelligent products and services. We find purpose in proactively protecting and keeping our customers connected to home, no matter where they are. Join the Smart Home team to create smarter, safer and more sustainable homes.

Summary:

Weโ€™re looking for a Motion Graphics & Illustration Specialist to join Vivintโ€™s Creative Team. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality motion design, 3D product visualization, and illustrative content that supports marketing campaigns, product storytelling, and brand experiences.

Beyond execution, this role will take ownership of defining and evolving Vivintโ€™s illustration languageโ€”building a scalable system that can be applied consistently across a wide range of platforms and use cases. Youโ€™ll help shape how illustration shows up across the company, from in-app experiences to large-scale marketing campaigns, ensuring a cohesive and elevated brand presence.

The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in motion graphics and illustration, paired with advanced 3D rendering capabilities. You should be comfortable translating product features into engaging visual narratives and bringing ideas to life through animationโ€”including character-based storytelling when appropriate.

This role requires both creative vision and technical excellence. Weโ€™re looking for someone operating at a high level of craft, taste, and executionโ€”someone who can raise the bar for the entire team and deliver work that reflects a best-in-class creative standard. You should be comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with cross-functional partners.

What Youโ€™ll Be Working On:

  • Creating high-quality motion graphics, animations, and illustrations for digital campaigns, web, social, and product experiences
  • Developing photorealistic 3D renders of Vivint products and environments
  • Defining and building a scalable illustration system and visual style for the Vivint brand
  • Applying and evolving illustration standards across web, mobile app, video marketing, lifecycle campaigns, and other digital channels
  • Translating product features and concepts into clear, engaging visual narratives
  • Producing short-form animations and explainer content that simplify complex ideas
  • Creating character-based animations and bringing illustrated or branded characters to life with strong timing, personality, and storytelling
  • Collaborating with designers, marketers, and product teams to ensure visual consistency and brand alignment
  • Contributing to concept development, storyboarding, and creative direction
  • Optimizing motion and visual assets for performance across platforms (web, mobile, paid media)
  • Staying current with emerging tools, techniques, and trends in motion design, illustration, and 3D rendering

What Weโ€™d Like to See:

  • 3โ€“6+ years of experience in motion graphics, illustration, or 3D visualization
  • Exceptional portfolio showcasing motion design, illustration systems, and 3D/product rendering work
  • Demonstrated ability to define and scale a visual or illustration style across multiple platforms
  • Strong understanding of animation principles, including timing, weight, motion, easing, and character animation fundamentals
  • Strong grasp of lighting, materials, composition, and rendering techniques
  • Experience creating product-focused visuals or working with physical products
  • High level of craft, attention to detail, and creative judgmentโ€”weโ€™re looking for someone operating at the top of their discipline
  • Ability to balance creative vision with technical precision
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment

Tech and Design Skills:

  • Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro)
  • 3D software (Cinema 4D, Blender, or similar)
  • Familiarity with motion design workflows and asset optimization for digital platforms
  • Basic understanding of video editing and sound design

Education:

Degree in Motion Design, Animation, Visual Design, or related field โ€” or equivalent professional experience.
