We are seeking a Graphic Designer who is motivated to help individuals and families navigate life's challenges and achieve long-term wellness.

This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (BHDD), Central Office, 400 Otarre Parkway Cayce, SC 29033. As the Graphic Designer, you will bring BHDD's communications to life visually, producing high-quality, on-brand design across print, digital, product and environmental formats to meet the agency's communication needs, from statewide campaigns to local outreach toolkits.
Responsibilities for the Graphic Designer : Design and produce print and digital materials across all formats, including flyers, brochures, posters, social media graphics, presentations, banners and signage. Ensures all design work meets BHDD brand guidelines and ADA accessibility requirement Develop and maintain a library of branded templates, including presentations, flyers, social graphics, and newsletters, that agency staff, partners, and vendors can use and modify independently. Coordinate with the communications team and agency staff as needed to ensure templates and toolkits meet current needs.
Produce style guides and creative assets for agency campaigns, public awareness initiatives, and events. Ensure campaign materials are strategically aligned, adaptable for local use as needed, and formatted for a variety of channels and audiences. Contribute to multimedia production, including photography, video editing, and motion graphics as needed.
Serve as a quality control resource for documents, presentations and other communications created across the agency, reviewing work for brand consistency, accessibility compliance, and publication readiness. Contribute to maintaining and evolving agency design standards. Minimum and Additional Requirements A bachelor's degree and relevant experience.
Additional Requirements: A degree in graphic design or a related field, or equivalent work experience and a portfolio demonstrating the KSAs listed in the Additional Comments section. Additional Comments Post hire, employees must have (KSA): Proficiency with professional design software, including the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Canva. Working knowledge of layout, typography, and color as they apply to print and digital materials.
Ability to design accessible documents that meet Section 508 and ADA requirements. Ability to build and maintain reusable templates and apply brand standards consistently across a range of materials. Skill in managing multiple projects and deadlines at once.
Ability to take direction and feedback and revise work accordingly.
