MOTION GRAPHICS ARTIST
The Motion Graphics Artist will report directly to the Director of Video Services.
JOB OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE:
This position is responsible for VFX, color grading, motion graphics, and art direction in the creation of video content which fulfills the communication objectives outlined by our customers and elevates their brands.
Our purpose is to provide a creative and rewarding work environment for our team members while delivering high quality content to our customers.
JOB LOCATION AND HOURS:
This position is required to be in-office at our Studio Location unless approved by Upper Management. The normal working hours for this position are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm with a one-hour lunch. Additional hours and days may be required on an occasional basis pending workload and individual productions.
FLSA CLASSIFICATION:
This is an exempt position and not eligible for overtime under the FLSA guidelines.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Digitally manipulate footage as needed on a per-project basis. This might take the form of painting out blemishes, doing screen replacements, keying and compositing greenscreens, or any number of other tasks of ranging complexity
  • Color correct footage to match client specifications, or develop color grades for more creative projects
  • Design and execute motion graphics, from simple text supers to fully graphics-driven explainer videos
  • Independently art direct projects per treatment or script
  • Follow provided scripts and creative treatments, but bring your own creative flair to give projects life
  • Be ready to learn new skills and tools as needed for projects and initiatives
  • Work independently, but be ready to run with feedback once you get it
  • Collaborate with Creative Team leaders on projects to ensure successful deliverables
  • Participate in creative strategy sessions prior to pitch
  • Create Marketing communication to support TC Shadowlight Sales - decks, reels, ads, etc.
  • Stay up-to-date with evolving industry standards, both technologically and creatively
  • Wrangle multiple projects concurrently
  • Meet deadlines, and communicate early in the process when deadlines and reality do not meet
  • Be comfortable with technology and willing to troubleshoot issues as they arise
  • Provide live graphics support on set when necessary

The duties and responsibilities described above are not a comprehensive list and additional tasks may be assigned to the employee in certain circumstances. The scope of this position may evolve as needed at any time to comply with business demands.
QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience using Adobe After Effects for motion graphics work (e.g. type and animation) as well as effects work (e.g. compositing and tracking footage)
  • Comfort with DaVinci Resolve for color grading
  • Knowledge of the visual design principles of composition, color, layout, typography, and motion
  • Ability to research and learn new tools quickly and efficiently as needed
  • Ability to work with, understand, and troubleshoot computers and other technology
  • Ability to follow client brand standards and delivery specifications
  • Conscientious work habits and superior attention to detail
