Intralox is a captive molder that operates a high-tech, in-house mold making department responsible for building prototype and production injection molds. We have recently added a 5-axis Makino mill and are looking for help optimizing it to produce hardened mold components. You will join a group of 10 senior and apprentice mold makers who work as a tightknit mold fabrication team. You will have access to all the latest software, tools and training needed to succeed.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements
Responsibilities
• Setup and operate manual, automatic, and CNC equipment (VMC, grinders, EDM)
• Machine components for injection molds with tight tolerances
• Assist with mold assembly, disassembly, and final fitting
• Support mold maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities
• Work alongside experienced mold makers to learn spotting, benching, and fitting techniques
• Participate in diagnosing molding issues (flash, shorts, venting, wear) and supporting corrective actions
• Continuously develop skills in mold making processes and tooling techniques
Requirements
• 2+ years as a hands-on machinist (CNC, grinding, or EDM experience preferred)
• High school education with strong math skills (geometry, trigonometry)
• Ability to work to tight tolerances with strong attention to detail
• Desire to grow into a mold making role and learn beyond basic machining tasks
• Self-managed with a high sense of urgency and ownership
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Willingness to learn from experienced toolmakers and take on increasing responsibility
Preferred Qualifications
• Exposure to injection molds, tooling, or tight-tolerance machining
• Experience with surface grinding and/or EDM
• Interest in understanding how plastic part quality relates to mold design and condition
