Pay: $35 - 50/hr+ benefits

We are seeking a highly skilled Mold Maker to join a stable and well-established leader in the plastic injection molding industry. In this role, you will be responsible for building, repairing, and maintaining precision molds and tooling that support our high-volume production operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mold making, strong machining and troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to accuracy, safety, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:
  • Interpret CAD files, blueprints, sketches, and verbal or written instructions to plan and execute mold production and repairs.
  • Set up and operate a variety of Tool Room equipment including CNC mills, manual mills, wire and sinker EDMs, lathes, surface grinders, and other precision machinery.
  • Perform heat treatment on parts as required to meet design and durability specifications.
  • Conduct inspections before, during, and after machining using precision measuring tools and gauges to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Carry out hand operations to produce and refine jigs, fixtures, tools, and dies using standard trade tools.
  • Fit, assemble, and test molds, dies, and tooling to meet production specifications, identifying and correcting any issues during trial runs.
  • Disassemble, reassemble, and perform preventive maintenance on injection molds and auxiliary equipment.
  • Collaborate with Production teams to optimize mold performance and ensure smooth integration into manufacturing processes.
  • Research and order replacement parts and maintain accurate documentation for tools, equipment, and inventory as needed.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to OSHA standards and company safety policies.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts and perform additional duties as assigned by the Tooling Manager or management.
Qualifications:
  • At least 4 years of hands-on experience in mold making or equivalent trade work, with a strong background in plastic injection mold building and repair
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and mold specifications
  • Working knowledge of CAD/CAM software such as AutoCAD, Mastercam, or ProE
  • Solid understanding of industrial mathematics, mold/tool making principles, and shop theory
  • Skilled in working with tight tolerances, including precision machining to ยฑ0.0001
