AERMOR is seeking qualified candidates to support the facilitation of Mission Based Test Design (MBTD) processes through associated Design of Experiments (DOE) work, support post-test statistical analysis, and support Modeling and Simulation (M&S) DOE planning and Verification, Validation and Accreditation (VV&A) processes.
This is not a remote position. 
Responsibilities Include:
  • Perform Mission Based Test Design (MBTD) mission analysis.
  • Analyze program source data and documents to perform MBTD mission analysis.
  • Define and document the operational conditions applicable to the system to be tested including the associated descriptors.
  • Review Verification and Validation (V&V) Plans to ensure the M&S approach will provide sufficient data to support OT accreditation.
  • Review V&V Reports, evaluate if adequate statistical analysis techniques for M&S validation have been conducted and documented, and provide recommendations for accreditation level (full, limited or no accreditation) to support the accreditation decision.
  • Perform inferential statistics on the M&S output in support of the accreditation decision.
  • Analyze program source data and documents to perform MBTD requirements analysis.
  • Support and document the statistical test design.
  • Identify and document the expected use of (M&S) in the execution of the test design. responding to stakeholder comments on the MBTD.
  • Identify and document candidate critical measures/response variables, along with their associated conditions, during the Test Design portion of the MBTD process that will be supplemented by M&S data.
  • Develop M&S Accreditation Plans.
  • Help define and document the testing scope/design and justification for all critical measures.

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Proficiency with MS-Office software, to include MS Word, Excel, Power Point and proficiency in technical writing.
  • Ability to interact effectively within the naval community.
  • Experience and familiarity with the DoD and DoN instructions and procedures governing the Navy and Joint acquisition process.
  • Working knowledge of and/or experience with tactical operations, and the mission and role of the Navy commands and units tasked to operate in a multi-threat environment.
  • Statistical Analysis. Personnel offered as Analysts shall possess the following additional qualifications/skills:
    • Demonstrated experience with the use of statistical design and analysis of results in a government testing or laboratory environment, which may include but is not limited to Contractor Testing (CT), Developmental Testing (DT), and OT.
    • Demonstrated ability to apply analytical methodologies to evaluate systems undergoing test.
  • Experience related to the development of formal statistical DOE such as developing full factorial, optimal, and space filling designs; knowledge on the appropriate use of replicates; augmenting designs; and evaluating designs.
  • Must have experience with a broad range of statistical analysis methods applicable to testing in an operational environment to include statistical hypothesis testing and linear regression (standard least squares and logistic) modeling and desired experience with stepwise, mixed model, penalized regression, and recursive partitioning modeling techniques.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in the use of statistics and/or DOE or a minimum of two years’ experience creating statistical designs for OT.
  • Advanced level education in a statistics-related field or a related Engineering /Science field (a minimum of 4 years’ experience in applying statistical concepts may be substituted). Graduate level or higher education is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with the application of DOE techniques and statistical validation methods to M&S to determine the level of accreditation of a model for use in system performance characterization.
  • Demonstrated experience with computer-aided statistical design tools, such as JMP, R, MATLAB, SAS or Design Expert.
  • Demonstrated expertise in scripting functions for automatic data analysis using Excel, Access and/or other database software applications.
  • Demonstrated experience with the COMOPTEVFOR test planning process, M&S VV&A process, and post-test iterative process.
