Job description

Position Functions:

        Diagnose and repair transmission, engine, electrical, suspension, driveline, HVAC, brakes and air systems on tractors and trailers.

        Travel to various remote sites to accomplish field repairs on equipment that is broken down, where relocating them to the main shop would be counterproductive.

        Perform all repairs in various weather conditions and site environments safely and efficiently.

        Perform light trailer body repairs including doors, tires, lighting system etc.

        Maintain services for the company's fleet of vehicles.

        Maintain shop equipment and service truck as per company guidelines.

        Evaluate safety concerns and make necessary adjustments to ensure safety during travel, and any duties performed while onsite at the various locations is always to the highest standard.

        Test mechanical products and equipment after repair of assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.

        Efficiently account for paid time on work orders and document various steps taken throughout the repair process to ensure maximum warranty recovery and historical data for potential future information.

        Maintain a high level of productivity and be able to work within or better than SRT times.

        Ability to source needed parts when necessary and communicate with Parts Supervisor of domiciled terminal for proper payment to vendor.

        Maintain parts inventory integrity, warranty, core parts and parts usage tracking from cradle to grave.

        Carry, monitor, and answer company issued cellphones, text, emails, and any other form of expected communications with accounts and management staff.

        Focused on excellent customer service, and resolution oriented.

        May perform other duties as assigned.
