Primary Duties and Responsibilities

This position works primarily in a warehouse environment. You will perform receiving functions, stock, pick/pack, and deliver medical supplies to UCLA Health's hospital and ambulatory clinics.
Responsibilities include:
  • Data entry utilizing the Materials Management computer system
  • Complete shipments by processing and loading orders and ensure all goods are in excellent condition
  • Prepare orders by processing requests and supply orders; pulling materials; packing boxes; placing orders in delivery area
  • Incumbents will be required to operate warehouse equipment, drive forklifts, order pickers, and delivery trucks.
  • Completes deliveries by driving truck or van and coordinates the timely delivery of supplies and equipment adhering to delivery schedule procedures.
  • Maintains truck or van by completing preventive maintenance requirements
  • Enforces inventory controls by collecting stock location orders and report any missing or lost inventory to management
  • Provides quality service by following organization standards
  • Preserves safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat

This is an "as needed" per diem position; schedule and working hours will vary.
Salary Range: $25.10-25.10/hr

Required:
  • Required to hold valid driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program
  • Ability to push/pull up to 100 pounds and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Experience in utilizing heavy duty transport carts, furniture dollies, supply dollies, cargo van, box truck, electric pallet jack, manual pallet jack, and forklift.
  • Ability to operate a University vehicle to deliver supplies to multiple off-site locations
  • Strong communication skills with a strong customer service emphasis.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic computer skills and software.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to strictly obey the healthcare regulations for infection control.
  • Provides resources information regarding proper sterilization techniques, product information, equipment operation etc. to fellow staff and other healthcare team members, serving as a resource for people needing direction as required.
  • Ability to consistently adhere to policies and procedures.
  • Ability to attend and participate in required fire, safety, disaster and body mechanics classes and/or drills.
  • Consistently maintains good guest relations interdepartmentally, intra-departmentally, using English language in both written and verbal format.
  • Demonstrated good telephone etiquette.
  • Always responds to the needs of all areas. If unable to meet the needs, keeps the area informed and offers alternative
  • Ability to understand and adhere to Materials Management / Receiving and UCLA Policies and procedures.
