Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Program Manager to join our team at Afero. As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing the successful delivery of complex technical projects. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, and operations, to drive the execution of our IoT platform initiatives. Your exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills will be instrumental in ensuring project milestones are met while maintaining the highest level of quality and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
  • Lead program execution across diverse engineering teams (Firmware, Mobile, Cloud, and QA) to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software.
  • Work closely with product management to define project scope, goals, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, including tasks, timelines, resource allocation, and dependencies, using appropriate project management methodologies and tools.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration and communication, fostering strong relationships with engineering, product management, operations, and other stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle, employing proactive strategies to address potential obstacles and maintain project momentum.
  • Monitor and track project progress, providing regular status updates and reports to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Facilitate effective decision-making and conflict resolution, working collaboratively with stakeholders to drive consensus and achieve project objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance project management processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Coordinate with Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs) and component suppliers to ensure technical requirements and quality standards are met.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant technical discipline.
  • Proven experience as a Technical Program Manager or similar role, preferably in the IoT domain.
  • Strong background in software development or engineering, with a solid understanding of IoT technologies, platforms, and architectures.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex, large-scale projects with multiple cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in project management methodologies, tools, and techniques, such as Agile or Scrum.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive and results-oriented mindset.
  • This role is a hybrid position; candidates must be able to come into the Los Altos, CA office at least three days per week.

$185,000 - $220,000 a year
The US base salary range for this full-time position is expected to be $185,000 - $220,000. Actual pay is determined by a range of factors including work location, job-related skills and experience, relevant education, training or certifications, and other business and organizational needs. At Afero, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. This range reflects base salary only; Afero also offers competitive benefits and equity compensation, which are not included in these numbers.
